Nightlife In New York CityNew York is getting bigger and the nightlife is aimed to please the tourists, but there are still plenty of nightlife for the locals and travelers. HUB of the Jazz world is what NYC is called since that is where a lot of greats made their names and if you are just starting out this is where to go. NYC isn't famous only for its Jazz, with countless nightclubs NYC contains some of the best in the world. If you want something a bit more comfortable than simply a dance floor filled nightclub, you can head to one of the numerous lounges to enjoy your music and drinks in comfort. It does not matter what age group you are in NYC carters to them all, they have huge concerts with well known musicians, and the comedy clubs where famous comedians call home.
Ace of Clubs was a nightclub recommended to us by New Yorkers, so after a £35 cab ride we found ourselves at its doors. It did not seem to be what we were looking for. It was a little loud and the drinks were kind of pricey. We quickly made our exit and headed back to the hotel to find somewhere else to go for the night.
On the way into the hotel we asked the woman at the desk to recommend an nightclub and she told us to check ploose which I guess is some new NYC nightclubs directory that was super easy. All we had to do was enter our location (New York City) and were gifted with a list of possible nightclubs we could go to. There was one pretty close to our hotel which apparently had drink specials on at that moment so we decided to head there. We watched a couple of videos tours so we knew what to expect and when we got there it was exactly like they showed on ploose. We walked in and got a table and bought a bottle of grey goose and had a great time. It was called "The Pink Elephant" (name of the nightclub). After more hours and more drinks than is healthy we went back to the hotel and crashed out.

Saturday daytime was spent doing touristy stuff such as checking out 5th avenue, touring Manhattan and eating in a few restaurants that we chose at random, by the time the evening came we didn't have enough steam left for a big night. Thanks to our busy day (and heavy night before) we opted for something a bit calmer that night, we looked on 'ploose' again and found a chilled lounge near our hotel to go to. The name of the place was the Sapphire Lounge. It had a really classic decor, kind of like a party in your living room. It even had gorgeous red curtains to help create the mood. It wasn't too expensive and the DJ was spinning some great house music. We highly recommend it.
It was Sunday and we wanted to find us a sports bar and watch some football, so we ploosed again. The closest one that looked best to us was called 'Proof NYC' so we gave it a shot, it turned out to be a great decision. The TV was 8 feet long, perfect for viewing the Football on. With scarlet walls and a lovely hardwood floor the bar itself was more than comfortable to hang out in. With numerous beer specials on that night and a great match to watch you can only imagine what we got up to. We were enjoying our last day in New York City, we ordered food and sipped our drinks.

We still had time before we left town to stop at a jazz bar called the "Blue Note". As a big fan of Jazz I can say I was hugely impressed, it's the best Jazz bar I have ever been in and if you also like Jazz then missing out on this place if you are ever in NYC is a criminal offense. It was about half full but there was still plenty of room, it is decorated beautifully and the musicians were some of the best.
As you can tell NYC has plenty of choice when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. When we go back to NYC we are going to check out the Opera and Broadway and will let you know the best.
Get yourself over to NYC and find out why they call it one of the most amazing cities in the world.
